Dr. Tiltmann is a compassionate and informative physician who has been treating patients since 1999. He is one of the few advanced Graston Technique (instrument assisted soft tissue therapy) certified chiropractors in San Francisco and treats a large range of musculoskeletal complaints resulting from sports, work, and auto accidents, as well as common aches and pains stemming from every-day activities. Many of his patients work in the financial district and come to him with complaints of neck/shoulder and low back pain, which respond very well to the treatment Dr. Tiltmann provides.
Dr. Tiltmann's interest in chiropractic medicine began with a personal experience. He sustained an injury severe enough to prevent him from working, but not severe enough to require surgery. Being reluctant to take medications, he was referred to a chiropractic doctor. Although Dr. Tiltmann had little knowledge of chiropractic care at that time, the non-surgical and drug-free approach to health care

Dr. Tiltmann can relate to his patients on many levels. He currently participates in many sports, including running, swimming, squash, mountain biking, yoga, and weight training, and has previously participated in many others, such as European handball, soccer, ice hockey, racquet ball, football, road cycling, and scuba diving. His medical/legal practice requires many hours of computer work, and as a Certified Associate Ergonomist, this gives him the needed insight to help many of the financial district’s heavy computer users that suffer from the chronic neck and shoulder pain associated with computer use. Dr. Tiltmann studied culinary arts for 2 years and practiced as a chef in Canada and Europe, giving him invaluable understanding when dealing with patient’s dietary issues, especially for the uniquely designed “Weight Loss for Procrastinator’s” program offered at Financial District Chiropractic. Community outreach is very important to Dr. Tiltmann, and he participates in company health fairs and wellness lectures, including topics such as musculoskeletal conditions and treatment; How does Graston work?; back safety/proper lifting; ergonomic considerations and evaluations; understanding stress; weight gain/loss; and many others.
