Who We Are

Meet our Experienced Team of Doctors

Both Drs. Tiltmann and Blum have a strong working relationship with many medical doctors, including the One Medical Group.
Kai Tiltmann

Dr. Kai Tiltmann, D.C.

Dr. Tiltmann's connection with his patients stems from the fact that he was once a chiropractic patient himself. After receiving successful chiropractic treatment for a severe lower-back injury he learned the importance of spinal mechanics and proper back movement. He changed career path and studied at Palmer College of Chiropractic West and began practicing in the Bay Area in 1999. He opened his practice in downtown San Francisco since 2005.

Over the years, he developed a specialization in working with lower back pain, the primary cause of disability world-wide according to the World Health Organization. In particular, he focuses on; chronic, mechanical, lower-back pain patients between the ages of 20 and 55, with or without sciatica, who have seen little to no success in previous chiropractic treatments, physical therapy, yoga, palates, medication, injections, surgeries and failed back surgery syndrome (FBSS) patients. A major part of his practice includes educating patients on proper spinal mechanics and movements (frequently the pain source), an essential element often overlooked at other offices.

In addition to his focus on the low back he treats other musculoskeletal conditions of the spine and extremities. For therapeutic intervention; Graston Technique®. and Active Release Technique® (ART) are incorporated for soft tissues rehabilitation as well as a tissue specific exercise program.

As a Certified Associate Ergonomist, he performs ergonomic evaluations (in office and on-site), and is available for speaking engagements regarding ergonomics or the low back.

Part of Dr. Tiltmann’s passion in returning his patients to an active life comes from his own athletic drive that has including: long distance running, football, road and mountain biking, ice hockey, hiking, scuba diving, but now he primarily enjoys squash and body conditioning. He volunteers as a medical provider at various San Francisco athletic events.

Dr. Kris Blum

Dr. Kris Blum, D.C.

Dr. Kris Blum’s dedication to chiropractic care shows in her outstanding academic career as 2008 salutatorian and summa cum laude from Palmer College of Chiropractic West. But her motivation goes well beyond academics, with an active engagement in keeping all her patients active and pain-free. She treats patients with conditions of the back and neck, as well as conditions that affect the extremities (shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip, knee, ankle and feet). She practices a variety of chiropractic techniques, including the most cutting-edge soft-tissue treatments, Kinesio Tape application, exercises and rehabilitation conditioning.

Dr. Blum is a certified provider of Active Release Techniques® (ART), a patented movement-based massage system, and the Graston Technique®, which can be used to treat chronic, acute and post-surgical soft-tissue conditions. Graston Technique® is an instrument-assisted soft-tissue therapy, which uses stainless-steel instruments to break down scar tissue and fascial restrictions while improving blood flow and joint function.

Dr. Blum is a member of the Bay Area Sports Chiropractors (BASC), providing treatment to athletes in the San Francisco Marathon, the Cinderella Classic, Escape from Alcatraz triathlon and many others. She was an ART® provider for the 2007 Ironman Championship in Kona, HI. Dr. Blum finds that her own participation in running, cycling, swimming, snowboarding, wakeboarding, hiking, and yoga increases her understanding of movement, health and healing of the body.
